TOKYO, August 21 – RIA Novosti, Xenia Naka. North Korea is ready to start short- and medium-range missiles, reported Yonhap News Agency on Friday, citing a source in the government.

” There are indications that (North Korea) has prepared to launch short-range missiles such as “Scud” near the city of Wonsan in the north-east of the country and medium-range missiles such as “Rodong” in the province Phenan-do “- said the source. On the Korean Peninsula, the situation deteriorated sharply after the North and South exchanged artillery shelling on Thursday. South Korea said that the DPRK was allegedly fired two shells. Pyongyang denies this and insists that the shelling was carried out by the South. After that, the DPRK put forward a 48-hour ultimatum demanding to dismantle the speakers in the demilitarized zone in which RK broadcasts critical of North Korea. On Friday morning it was reported that Kim Jong-un has ordered to bring the troops on full alert. South Korea said it would not stop the broadcast and is ready to rebuff.
