St. Petersburg, September 26, 2015, 16:29 – REGNUM Today in the creative cluster ARTMUZA on Vasilyevsky Island offers an annual The 13th festival “Contemporary Art in Traditional Museum”. In large and small museums of St. Petersburg will feature original designs by contemporary Russian and foreign artists. At the opening, visitors will see a performance of the art group “North, 7″ and the presentation of projects, as well as be able to drive around on free buses all the exposure. The main purpose of the event – to bring together the traditional culture and modern art. This year the festival updates the format becomes more concentrated for the first time takes a total of all exposures to the topic: “Giperlokal: big discoveries.” According to the curator of the project Alice Prudnikova , the idea of the 13th Festival to his work began to research the life around at the micro level. Contemporary artists are turning to the details. This can be a mug on a table, a track from the previous windows on the floor, the spine of the book, in short, Giperlokal – is an attempt to find a symbolic center of the museum space in a paradoxical element.
As part of the festival for the first time an exhibition uniting all projects- participants. It presents replicas of works realized in the course of the project. The exhibition will open at the central site of the festival – in creative clusters “Artmuza».
The festival “Contemporary Art in Traditional Museum” is held in the cultural capital in 2000. For 15 years, it participated by artists from 11 countries, implemented 170 projects involved 70 museums in St. Petersburg. In 2006, the festival has become a nominee of the All-Russian Award “Innovation”. Draft prepared foundation “Pro Arte” and the Northwest Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA). Since 2015 the festival oversees Alice Prudnikov, director of the Ural Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, a member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
