Medina: The Ministry of Culture will not close the festival “Golden Mask” – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, January 17 – RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Culture is trying to restore the status quo “Golden Mask” at the agency no problem to eliminate the festival, said Culture Minister Vladimir Medina in an interview with “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” which will be released on Monday.

Theatre critics believe that the mechanism of formation of the board is not designed, some experts were appointed without discussion with representatives of the theater community.

He also said that the founders of the festival was the idea from the very beginning ignored the “Golden Mask” is not ruled STD and management. “When any company is governed not shareholders, of which there are two – the Ministry of Culture and STD … and taxis all, it turns out, wage management, and it takes all decisions is – wrong situation”, – concluded Medina.

” Golden Mask “- All-Russian Theatre Festival, National Theatre Prize, established in 1994 by the Union of theatrical figures of Russia and awarded productions in all genres of theater art. The nominees in the drama prize of the festival in 2016 became the 72 performances and 212 directors, actors and artists. Solemn ceremony of the Russian National Prize will be held April 16, 2016 on the stage of the Musical Theatre of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko.
