Moscow. 25 Oct. INTERFAX.RU – the Vatican Museums will present the exhibition “Roma Aeterna” in the Tretyakov gallery more than 40 works, said the General Director of gallery Zelfira Tregulova.
“This is a unique situation that the Vatican Museums offer 42 pieces on exhibition in the Tretyakov gallery in Moscow, while the Russian curators played a huge role in the formation of its members,” said Tregulova at a press conference on Tuesday.
She noted that the exhibition “Roma Aeterna. Masterpieces of the Vatican picture gallery. Bellini, Raphael, Caravaggio” will be held from 25 November 2016 to 19 February 2017.
“Ever the Vatican did not provide the exhibition of such number in any country of the world. To show the exhibition in the Tretyakov gallery can serve as a point of intersection for the earliest works in our gallery. We have never adopted such a representative exhibition from this space,” said Tregulova.
She noted that especially for the exhibition was developed by the audio guide, which was voiced by the actor Veniamin Smekhov.
According to Tregulova, October 25, a month before the exhibition starts online sale of tickets on the website gallery. The tickets will cost more expensive on 100 roubles than usual – 500 rubles, and their number will be limited.
“We understand that it will be of great interest to viewers in Russia. And we tried to rely on the experience our two latest exhibitions – Serov and Ivan Aivazovsky. Therefore, visits to the sessions every 30 minutes. We can’t chase a gigantic attendance, will be dosed to receive visitors. We must not only ensure the safety of the works, but also to give people the opportunity to engage in a spiritual dialogue with the paintings”, – said General Director of the gallery.
She called in advance to buy tickets at the box office or on the website of the Tretyakov gallery, without resorting to the dealers. According to her, the sale of tickets for this show will be limited to one person to four or two.
Tregulova said that in 2017 will be organized response exhibition of the Tretyakov gallery in the Vatican; a significant part of it consists of works of Russian painting biblical scenes from the gallery collection.
“We met several times with colleagues from the Vatican Museum, we hope that our response exhibition will be as generous. We are ready to provide top-class masterpieces from the collection of the Tretyakov gallery,” – said the CEO.
She noted that for the first time this project began to say three years ago, after a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Pope.
“We are faced in the spring with a difficult situation, when there was a danger that the exhibition with his incredible list and the idea could not take place due to lack of funding. It was a dramatic moment. This project was actually saved by Alisher Usmanov and his Foundation,” said Tregulova.
