Press conference of the participants of the Congress
October 14, Moscow /Edward Brewer. > > > II Congress of the Union of writers of the Union state held in Moscow today, the main values proclaimed peace, stability and spirituality. This is stated in the documents adopted by the delegates at the forum, BelTA has learned.
In particular, the resolution of the Congress noted that “for each of us the most important value in life is peace, stability, prosperity and wellbeing”. According to forum participants, spirituality, appeal to the eternal values can help to change the world, and the title role in this process belongs to the word. “We, the Russian and Belarusian writers, given the new overall political and geopolitical issues today realize the depth and urgency of the tasks before us”, – stated in the resolution.
Members of Congress also adopted an appeal in which it is stated that the Slavic world today were dissected and spiritually, politically and geographically. “Our Nations are confronted with the historical choice, but we have our own special weapons of defense, – the document says. Are books of Russian and Belarusian writers Cyril of Turov, Maxim Bogdanovich, Simeon of Polotsk, Lomonosov and Pushkin, Gogol and Dostoevsky, Goncharov and Tolstoy and Yesenin, Sholokhov, Chekhov and Mikola Gusovskogo, Skarina Frantisek Bogushevich, Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas, Nikolai Ostrovsky, Alexander Fadeyev, Yuriy Bondarev, Ivan Stadnyuk, Mikhail Alekseev, Vasil Bykov, Maxim Tank, as well as works of many other talented writers of our countries who have contributed not only to the development of the Belarusian and Russian cultures, but also in the development of world civilization. Culture is the soil in which will grow new shoots of our reciprocity.”
the forum was attended by about 120 delegates from Belarus and Russia, as well as political and public figures of two countries. They summed up the activities for the preservation and strengthening of spiritual and historical unity of the literatures, countries, peoples, and discussed the joint work plan for the next 5 years.
the Union of writers of the Union state was formed at the founding Congress, which was held in December 2009 in Minsk. The main task of the Union is defined using creativity to strengthen friendly political and economic relations between Belarus and Russia.-0-
