Bob Dylan will not attend the ceremony, the Nobel prize – Росбалт.RU

Rock musician Bob Dylan refused to personally awarded him the Nobel prize for literature. The award ceremony to be held in Stockholm (Sweden) is 10 December 2016.

According to Dylan, he will not be able to attend the ceremony because of “other commitments”. As reported by Swedish newspaper the Local, reported by the representatives of the Swedish Academy, received from the American musician of the corresponding letter.

Dylan expressed regret and stressed that he was honored to receive the Nobel prize.

However, according to representatives of the Swedish Academy, the musician still has six months to find the time to make the traditional lecture as a Nobel laureate. And it’s not necessary to come to Stockholm.

As reported, the Swedish Academy awarded him the Nobel prize in literature “for the creation of a new poetic expression in the American song tradition.”
