Feldman calls “political” the decision of the court of Amsterdam in the case of the Scythian gold – TASS

ROSTOV-ON-DON, December 15. /TASS/. The head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov said that the decision of the Amsterdam court in the case of the Scythian gold is political, and the appeal in a dispute about the fate of the collection will not have success.

“will fail (to achieve justice in the appeal in this case – approx. TASS),” – said Aksenov, answering the question TASS. “This anti-Russian measures taken by the West, that’s all. This is a purely political decision directed against Russia,” – said the head of the Crimea.

on Wednesday the district court of Amsterdam decided on the return of Scythian gold to Ukraine. Thus, the Crimean museums and the government has said it will submit on it the appeal.

Aksyonov said that Scythian gold to Crimean museums and Ukraine has no right to it. “The gold belongs to the Crimean museums, was found in Crimea, in this case, which law of Ukraine on these objects of culture?” he said.

Aksyonov also said that the collection of Scythian gold is priceless, so it is difficult to assess the damage that will be caused to Crimean museums from the loss of the artifacts. He stressed that the current Ukrainian government makes no sense to discuss the return of the exhibits to the Peninsula. “There will be no compromise, they are not configured to construct, they have only one goal – to hurt Russia and Crimea as a Federal subject of Russia. Need to wait for the presidential and parliamentary elections (in Ukraine), they usually always radically changing the agenda in this country”, – said the head of the Republic.

Exhibits Crimean museums were used for the design of the exhibition “Crimea: gold and secrets of the Black sea”, which from February to August 2014 was held in the Allard Pierson Museum. The uncertain situation with the collection occurred after the reunification of the Crimea with Russia in March 2014. Their rights to have exhibits removed from the Peninsula, said as the Crimean museums, and Ukraine. In this regard, the University of Amsterdam has suspended the procedure for the transfer of values to the resolution of the dispute on legal grounds or for as long as the parties come to a peace agreement.
