Unknown kidnapped the founder of the Museum in the Crimea with the requirement to move the collection to Ukraine – TASS

SIMFEROPOL, December 25. /TASS/. The founder of the private “Crimean historical Museum-reserve” Altyn Gulliver during his stay on the territory of Ukraine was kidnapped by unknown persons who tried to get him to move the collection abroad. On Saturday TASS was told by a member of the Crimean government Zaur Smirnov.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, the seizure occurred on December 17. “The story happened a few days ago in the city of Genichesk of the Kherson area. Altin went to Kiev for onward travel to France, where he lives, and on the way his car was kidnapped by a group of militants. He was under moral pressure to stop activities in the Crimea and to transfer the Museum collection related to the history of Crimea and Crimean Tatars on Ukraine, threatened the lives and security of Alcina,” – said Smirnov. According to him, now Altin “is safe, the collection is not threatened”.

“These groups operated under the pressure of the head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, who has repeatedly spoken about the activities of Altina. Our sources in Kiev confirmed this information and why today we decided to publish it”, – explained the reason for the late appearance of reports of abduction of the founder of the Crimean Museum Zaur Smirnov.

Information about the detention Altina also appeared on his page in social network Facebook. “Armed seizure was a result of the refusal of the founder of the Crimean historical Museum-reserve of Gulliver Altino make the decision on the termination of the Museum work on the territory of Crimea and move to Kiev, urged the leaders of the militants. The Museum-reserve are faced with an unprecedented threat from illegal armed formation, which is based in Henichesk district (Kherson region), in this regard take a number of comprehensive measures for the protection of the professional activity and of the management body”, – stated in the message of the reserve.

the historic complex also intends to seek the support of the government of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, France and UNESCO and its partners in the Crimea and abroad.

Private cultural institution “the Crimean historical Museum” created by Guliver Altinum and registered by Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation. According to the Federal law “About Museum Fund of the Russian Federation and museums in Russian Federation” has the status of a non-state Museum-preserve on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. The basis of the Museum’s collection includes the funds of the Crimean historical Museum “larishes”, consisting of a unique collection of rarities on the history of Crimea and Crimean khanate. The Museum is located in the historical and cultural complex “Devlet-Barn”.
