In a speech at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. Shostakovich Raikin remembered crippled the fate of Russian poets: Gumilev, Tsvetaeva, Mayakovsky, Mandelstam, Brodsky and others. The Director believes that prominent authors in Russia “etched” as long as they didn’t die.

“we Have nekrofilskie state, it loves the dead more than the living. Then they called names of streets, squares, metro stations, and before that kill” — he said. Moreover, according to Raikin, a persecution proceeded from the “beautiful and terrible” of St. Petersburg, which still keeps these traditions.

the Director expressed regret that in Russian society there is no “moral vaccination”, so the change of government nothing has changed. He noted that great poets reacted to political events, but always found something more important — loving eyes of loved ones or the change of seasons.

“Winter, spring, summer and fall is not only cold, dirty, hot and humid, but still very nice. Don’t forget about it,” he said.

Thus, the wide public resonance was received by Raikin’s statement at the Congress of the Union of theatrical figures of Russia in October 2016. He called to condemn the attacks of the activists on plays and exhibitions and oppose this kind of censorship.

Earlier Vladimir Putin has suggested to develop criteria for creative works, allowing to define, whether they go beyond the law, whether the insult anybody’s feelings. “A difficult task, but it would be very good to us, and you would be able to do it. And then it would be easy to stop, honestly, and officials who cross the border,” he said.
